The UK premiere of Noye's Fludde was staged amongst the stunning grounds of Belfast Zoo. Directed by the award winning, Oliver Mears, this unique production of Britten's much-loved children's opera was brought to life by a huge children's chorus.
Conducted by Nicholas Chalmers, the chorus featured members of the local community in addition to a very special appearance by one
of China’s leading choirs - The Children and Young Women's Chorus of the China National Symphony Orchestra.
At the heart the story of Noah and the Great Flood are the animals, and Simon Lima Holdsworth’s spectacular vision for the props and costumes presented a marvellous series of animal lanterns that were hand crafted by artisans in Weifang, China.
An adaptation of the biblical tale of Noah and the Great Flood, Noye’s Fludde is part of the KT Wong Foundation’s platform to engage young audiences in key environmental issues.
To support Noye's Fludde, the Foundation is also spearheading a groundbreaking education program that will create partnerships between schools in the UK and China.
